This is also known as the Monts Birougou Wetlands, Birougou national park is located in central Gabon. It the park is mostly occupied by the dense rain forest around the Chaillu mountain and its considered to be one of the best national parks in Gabon where the endemic Sun-tailed Guenon is found. This is the type of the monkey which was first discovered and described in 1988.
This national park was named after the great mountain of Birougou and its considered to be one of the highest peaks in the country, because of the perfect cultural significance of the park, the park was later recognized by the UNESCO world heritage in 2005.
