Explore Uganda Rwanda and Congo tour on a magical gorilla trekking safari in all three countries gaining chances to soak up mountain gorillas and Nyiragongo Volcano Hike in Congo.

In the morning you take a boat ride on Lake Bunyonyi exploring the lake of a thousand islands.

The views on the lake are spectacular and thrilling to explore. After this activity, we cross the border through Cyanika border and transfer to Volcanoes National Park for dinner and overnight stay.

As you enjoy your early morning breakfast, this is the second opportunity to explore the mountain gorillas but this time in different country in Volcanoes National Park in Rwanda.

Volcanoes National Park is part of the Virunga Volcanoes where the remaining population of endangered mountain gorillas lives.

Gorilla tours in Africa and treks starts at 8am with a short briefing about the dos and don’ts of mountain gorillas and the forest by the park warden.

However in Rwanda, an early arrival offers a traditional dance performance and a warm cup of coffee.

After the entertainment, you drive to the starting point of your trek and enter into the forest to the hike to in search for mountain gorillas.

The hike is white strenuous and it take from 2 to 8 hours according the movements of these gentle apes.

The encounter of mountain gorillas is rewarding with only hour of when you come across a silver back playing with its young ones, this is a lifetime moment and a range of pictures and videos can be taken while observing them as they interact with each other.

After the gorilla experience, you return to the starting point as you drive to Lake Kivu in Gisenyi for relaxation and an evening boat ride exploring the beautiful lake and the Islands after retire and transfer to your lodge for dinner and overnight.

Early morning after breakfast, we drive to cross to Congo (Goma) for about I hour to catch up with the Nyiragongo Volcano Hike.

All tourists gather at Kibati patrol post from where the hike commences from accompanied by the Virunga ranger guides. The transfer from Mikeno to Kibati ranger station where the hike starts is about one hour.

The accommodation is presented in the mountain shelter and you enjoy the glowing views of the lava lake at night.

The hike up to the volcano can last from 4 to 6 hours on foot and you stop every after 45 minutes for a short rest and snacks, It gets better and brighter as the night gets darker and red smoke pours out of it prompting you to sit for hours in the cold and stare into the shifting lava. It is breathtaking and incredible.

A Nyiragongo permit cost $300 and $100 for DRC visa; porters are available at$ 24 and I recommend a walking stick available for $5 which you can keep as a souvenir.

Drive from Gisenyi to Kigali about 3 hours enjoying the scenic views of Rwanda. After arriving in Kigali city, you can take city tour to the Gisozi genocide memorial or visit the local markets for shopping after retire for your hotel or departure at the airport for your next destination.
