A Gorilla Trek within the Bwindi Impenetrable Forest is a highlight of all visits done in Uganda and certainly mountain gorillas are the major reason as to why very many people visit Uganda.

On the other hand, Uganda is recognized as a very safe and more so secure country in which you can see these gorillas in serene surroundings.

In Uganda, every gorilla permit goes for US $ 700 while in low season (April, May and November) every year they go at US $ 450. On a single day, nearly 80 people travel into Bwindi to see gorillas and only 8 people are allowed to see a gorilla family.

We strongly encourage you to book your gorilla safari holiday with us and experience the Eco tours in Africa; and traveling with us you are assured to prevent the most prominent mistake is to book a gorilla family which is far away from your choice of accommodation! The routes to Bwindi and its various regions are often tricky; this is a remote area.

If you would like to do the gorilla trek on your own so as to save costs, you might end up incurring more. Our Safari guides have been trained to help you with this in all regions where the mountain gorillas are found.

In Uganda, the Pearl of Africa the mountain gorillas are found in only national Parks and that is Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park and Mgahinga Gorilla National Park and each park has got gorilla families to show to the travelers visiting.

In Bwindi forest you find quite a big number of groups including the Mubare, Habinyanja & Rushegura in the Buhoma Sector, Bitukura, and Oruzogo & Kyaguliriro in Ruhija Sector, Nkuringo in Nkuringo Sector, Bweza, Kahungye, Busingye, Nshongi, Mishaya & Bikingi, and Bushaho for gorilla habituation experience in Rushaga sector.

Then in Mgahinga Gorilla National Park, we have the Nyakagezi gorilla family and this used to be as the trans-boundary species crossing from this park to the Virunga National Park in DRC Congo and Volcanoes National Park in Rwanda.

In Democratic Republic of Congo a permit cost $ 400 USD and in low season, Mid March – Mid May the permit goes low at $ 200 USD.

Therefore on your visit to Bwindi and Mgahinga Gorilla National Parks you can do as many treks that you want and still from these parks there is other excursions to experience like the Batwa trail, golden monkey tracking, Mgahinga volcano hike and birding experiences.

In Rwanda, these primates can be seen in the Volcanoes National Park, there are 10 mountain gorilla groups habituated making it if sales are positive 80 gorilla permits for visitors to Rwanda available every single day.

It is 8 people per group can trek these endangered apes. Susa group is the best to track for adventurous travelers! Before the gorilla permit was somehow affordable to travelers willing to take short gorilla trek in Rwanda, but today considering the conservation means the Rwanda Development Board doubles the gorilla permit now costing US $ 1500 per person per trek respectively to all travelers, part of your contribution goes to conserving these mountain gorillas.

Our company is so much able to arrange your gorilla permit, book for you accommodation close to the park, offer transport and all logistics required to run the safari. We make sure that the total cost of the safari per person includes the permit.

Therefore I conclude with a simple advice, for those interested in luxury gorilla safaris, Rwanda is open and we can take you there and those interested in mid affordable gorilla safaris, Uganda and Democratic Republic of Congo are open combing other wildlife tourist destinations.
