Welcome to Rwanda a new luxury destination in East Africa and there is most loved experience to take and these include the gorilla trekking tours that starts immediately on arrival where your driver guide will brief you about the details concerning your tour and transfer you to the North to Parc des National (Volcanoes National Park) which is located 80km from Kigali approximately a two hours’ drive.

If you arrive early, you will have yourself a city tour in Kigali where you will be able to visit the National Museum or the Genocide memorial Centre then have lunch and transfer to the park in the afternoon. Drop you to your preferred place of stay to rest until the next day.

On the next day, have yourself an early tasty breakfast, after which your driver guide will take you to the headquarters in the park by 8 am for beefing. Later embark on the amazing adventure which is gorilla tracking, in most cases this activity requires some physical fitness by the hikers.

It takes between 1 to 6 hours to trek and trekkers are permitted to be with the gorillas for 1 hour. It is really a nice experience seeing them play, guard each other, feed among others. While trekking hikers will be in line to also see other animals like the golden monkeys, elephants, buffaloes as well as birds.

After trekking, you will head back to the lodge; have lunch and opt for a visit to the twin lakes; Burera and Ruhondo. They are referred to as the twin lakes because they are interconnected at a point where one lake pours water into the other.

The lakes are located right at the foot of Mountain Sabyinyo, Muhabura, Bisoke and Gahinga. They are extremely beautiful, surrounded by the mountains and a very beautiful forest. The lakes are fishing grounds and this makes them not only important to those on Safari in Rwanda but also to the nearby local communities. The lakes are usually visited as an additional activity after a gorilla trekking safari.

You can spend your time just enjoying the beauty of this scenic place. The whole view is very spectacular as majority of the farmlands are terraced. By visiting some of the islands on these lakes you will meet some of the local people that stay there. They are mainly fishermen and live an extremely traditional life and so they are the perfect people to visit in this place if you wish to understand the indigenous life style of Rwanda.

Rides are done in the locally dug canoes to the different islands you will visit on these lakes. The canoe ride will also offer you a chance to enjoy the beautiful landscape, and even see a couple of water animals.

Bird lovers should visit this place as it offers a unique bird watching experience during which they will have an opportunity to see hundreds of different bird species.
