The best all round protected area in the country for wildlife and attractions, Murchison has large populations of lions, leopards, buffaloes, elephants, giraffes, hippos and chimpanzees plus its namesake waterfalls is world class. And if you are interested in the North West Uganda safari below is an itinerary to follow. Our tour guide will pick you from Entebbe Airport and proceed with you to your reserved accommodation either in Entebbe or Kampala.

After the morning breakfast at your lodge or hotel, you will leave early morning and head to northern Uganda to Murchison Falls National Park en-route, you will visit the Rhino Sanctuary called Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary and thereafter you proceed and have lunch at a town in Masindi. After lunch, you will continue with your journey through the park up to your reserved lodge for an overnight or camping at the top of your vehicle.

The next day you will go for a game drive and a boat cruise starting early morning in the north of River Nile. You will be able to view animals that are unique to African Savannah like the giraffes, antelope, lions, elephants, buffaloes, and the Uganda Kob.

After lunch, you will be able to go for a launch cruise on the River Nile. This will take you to the bottom of the thundering falls where you may see school of hippos, crocodiles, buffaloes and elephants that come and drink water, variety of water birds among others. You may also decide to take a drive at the top of the falls.

You may also travel to Kibale Forest National Park for primate tracking. You will wake up early in the morning and travel to Kibale forest en-route you will view the big tea plantations and have lunch, then you will continue to the park to your reserved accommodation for relaxation and overnight.

The next day you will be able to track the morning chimpanzee tracking adventure in the forest. While tracking, expect to see other primates such as the white and black Colobus monkeys, grey checked mangabey and to be told about the secrets of the forest.

Have lunch at the lodge and proceed to Bigodi for a walk trail through a papyrus swamp called Bigodi Wetland Sanctuary. You may end with a cultural performance if interested or a sunset drink near the lodge.

We extend our travel to Queen Elizabeth National Park. You may choose to go visit the crater lakes which after go for lunch and in the afternoon proceed to the park where you will have a late game drive and later an overnight at the lodge.

Next day wake up before the sunrise and set off for a morning game drive and search for wildlife like buffalo, water buck, Uganda Kob, warthogs, if lucky leopards, lions and there after return to the lodge for lunch. In the afternoon, set get ready for boat cruise on the Kazinga channel which connects to Lake Edward and Lake George. Expect to see many crocodiles, hippos, water birds plus elephants that come and drink water.

The safari jeep extends to south of Queen Elizabeth National Park called the Ishasha sector known for the tree climbing lions. If lucky expect to see lions up on the tree. Have lunch and proceed to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park via Lake Mutanda which is one of the beautiful sceneries of Uganda. You will have lunch and after proceed to Bwindi Forest in your reserved accommodation or on top of your rooftop tent.

The following day, you will wake up early in the morning and have breakfast prepared with your lunch and get ready for gorilla trekking adventure. Briefing and registration are done at the park headquarters, the ranger guide will then take you through the impenetrable forest. This adventure takes between 2 to 8 hours depending on where the gorillas were seen the previous night.

Once the gorillas are located, you can relax and watch the gorillas for one hour and watch them play and feed. Before going for the activity, you are expected to be physically fit and free from communicable diseases like the common cold.

After the tracking activity, you go back to the headquarters and receive your gorilla trekking certificates. The following day get ready in your safari jeep to drive back to Entebbe for your flight back home.
